Auditions for The Wizard of Oz

Description
Come audition for the Horizon Theater's summer production of: The Wizard of Oz!

Auditions will be 6-9pm, on April 12 at the Broadway Theater in Rock Springs.

Callbacks will be held April 13 by invitation only. Dance callbacks will be held 4:30-5:30 pm, and singing/acting callbacks will be held 6:00-9:00pm.

The Wizard of Oz will perform 7 shows, June 21-22, and 27-29.

If cast, rehearsals will be Mon-Thur in the evenings through late April-June. Rehearsals will be on an as-needed basis based off of role and cast availability.

Please prepare:

  • 32 bars of a song in a musical theater style (about a minute in length), that showcases your best vocal ability and talent.
  • A 30-60 second monologue from a published show or play. The monologue is optional, but is recommended if you would like to audition for a lead role.


Please have your sheet music clearly marked for the pianist, or have an accompaniment/karaoke track available to sing with. Please no acapella singing.

If you have a resume or headshot those are welcome to bring at auditions, but not required.

We are accepting auditions for anyone aged 6 and up. Younger cast members will be considered if they have an older sibling or a parent also participating in the show. Siblings and family groups can audition all together as a group if it is preferred.

All roles are available to audition for. If you would like a list or breakdown of the roles, please see the link below. Some roles may be cast with an understudy.
